Famous architects such as Sir Christopher Wren, Nicholas Hawksmoor, James Gibbs and, more recently, George Gilbert Scott have all left their mark here. Visitors are invariably awestruck by the city’s architectural masterpieces. What better backdrop for students who are interested in learning about architectural history and styles, or even thinking of embarking upon a career as an architect? This course introduces the basics of design and implementation, as well as exploring some of the historical and cultural influences on Oxford architecture.
