The perfect course to help budding writers put their words onto paper. Learning techniques to overcome the daunting task of that first blank page, telling stories from different points of view, how to effectively use dialogue, becoming attuned to different rhythms and syncopations of how our characters speak. Students will look at different ways to create and develop a compelling character, exploring space and place and how writers describe locations and setting. They will then turn their attention to crafting an engaging plot, the tension and turning points, plot twists and analyse what makes a good plot. Students will then look at creating ambiguities  through repetition and omission, examining how different techniques are creatively used by fiction writers today.
