It is always a pleasure to receive positive feedback from a parent, so we were absolutely thrilled last week to have an email from Narinder, whose son Pavel studied medicine at Cambridge last summer:
“Pavel was enriched in a plethora of ways because of the program:
- Academic – the coursework was engaging; he got to learn about pharmacology and physiology – sparking further interest in studying these areas in college, the small group sizes allowed for many hands-on learning opportunities: blood pressure and its relation to body temperature, measuring head sizes and observing differences, preparing a major project.
- College Preparedness – Pavel learned how to navigate coursework alongside living skills: laundry, meal times, waking up to get ready for classes. He learned how to coexist in a dorm setting and became close with his flat mate; a buddy system emerged to make sure they were up on time to go to class
- Accountability – even if you want to roam about the town, you must return for curfew and be able to wake up the next day and be timely .
- INDEPENDENT!! – he has gained the confidence of living abroad and knowing he was okay, but that is because Immerse is SO precisely managed and executed; WE LOVED IT!!!!
- Career – Pavel also put this experience on his college applications, and it was noticed and MUCH appreciated by college admissions officers
- Social Connections – Pavel loved meeting friends from all over the world and remains in touch with them now. He felt so happy and included in his newly formed friend family; it was such a huge confidence boost!”
